2D Spine Animator for Indie Adventure Game

About the role

We are seeking a skilled 2D Spine Animator to join the core team of STORWAKE, an atmospheric indie point‑and‑click adventure. The position is fully remote and offered on a revenue‑share basis, giving you a stake in the project's success.

Key responsibilities

• Create full Spine rigs for two playable robots and a sphere antagonist.
• Animate core character states (idle, walk, interaction, push/pull, inspection, emotional reactions, crafting) – roughly 15‑20 animations.
• Animate secondary character states (idle, walk, special abilities, cooperative actions) – about 10‑15 animations.
• Develop antagonist sphere animations (rotation, tremor, scanning, fade) – 6‑7 states.
• Produce cooperative mechanics animations where both characters act together.
• Animate semi‑transparent human silhouettes for a narrative mechanic – 6 short loops.
• Prepare VFX animations for holograms, puzzle effects, and visual memories.

Required profile

• Portfolio showcasing Spine animation for characters, creatures, or effects.
• Strong command of Spine 2D (rigging, mesh, IK, animation).
• Solid understanding of animation principles such as weight, inertia, and character through movement.
• Ability to convey life and personality through mechanical motion.
• Willingness to work in an indie startup under revenue‑share terms.
