Cloud Engineer

About the role

IQDATA, a leading Belarusian provider of cloud services, digitalisation and information security, is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join the operations and development team of its private and hybrid cloud platform built on the full VMware stack.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage the multi‑tenant VMware vCloud Director environment.
• Maintain and optimise VMware vSphere clusters (ESXi, vCenter), including resource pools, load balancing and migration planning.
• Design and support network connectivity between virtual machines, storage systems and external networks, configuring VLANs, routing, firewalls and load balancers (F5, NGINX, HAProxy).
• Automate routine operations using PowerCLI, Python, Ansible and Terraform, applying Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions (Zabbix, Prometheus + Grafana, ELK/EFK) to ensure platform health.
• Configure high‑availability mechanisms (HA, DRS, FT) and participate in disaster‑recovery testing.
• Manage backup and restoration of virtual machines and configuration data.
• Create architectural diagrams, runbooks and documentation for internal teams and customers.
• Support security initiatives by applying patches, managing access rights and monitoring security events.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of VMware technologies, especially vCloud Director and vSphere.
• Strong background in network engineering, including VLANs, routing, firewalls and load‑balancing solutions.
• Experience automating cloud operations with scripting languages and IaC tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging and high‑availability concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with security and support teams.
