Data Architect – GCP & BigQuery (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Data Architect to design and own the data layer for AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects on Google Cloud Platform. You will build BigQuery data pipelines and analytics solutions that enable legacy COBOL systems to be re‑implemented in Java, Go or .NET.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and scalable analytics pipelines.
• Support application modernization initiatives by defining data flows for re‑platformed systems.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and distributed engineering teams in a fully GCP‑based environment.
• Define and maintain data pipelines that grow with modernization efforts.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven background in data architecture, BigQuery, and building analytics pipelines.
• Experience modernizing legacy or mainframe‑class applications into Java, Go or .NET.
• Consulting or professional‑services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Strong requirements‑gathering and test‑driven design skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
