Lead Accountant – Finance Reporting

About the role

As a Lead Accountant – Finance Reporting at MKS/Atotech, you will be the primary accounting professional for the local entity, ensuring accurate records, compliance with local regulations, and timely reporting to headquarters. The role balances core accounting duties (about 70%) with financial reporting and planning responsibilities (about 30%).

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, including fixed assets, intangibles, inventories, and employee expense reports.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, coordinate internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
• Prepare monthly financial packages for headquarters: P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow statements.
• Develop annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and cash‑flow projections.
• Analyze financial results, explain variances, and support management reporting.
• Act as liaison between local finance operations and headquarters, contributing to system and process improvements.

Required profile

• Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably as Lead Accountant, Deputy Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, statutory reporting, and financial statement preparation.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end and year‑end close processes independently.
• English proficiency at A2‑B1 level or higher.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with the 1C accounting system.
