Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will work remotely with global clients, translating legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET solutions on GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy and mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain business criticality of legacy systems and proposed modern solutions.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy or mainframe systems.
• Strong background in data architecture and pipeline design on GCP.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
