Junior Graphic Designer

About the role

NRS builds technology and services used by thousands of independent retailers across the US. It is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join its Product Design team and help shape the visual layer of its digital products. You will work closely with UI/UX designers to create illustrations, icons, graphics, motion assets and other visual elements that make the products clearer, more engaging and more consistent.

Key responsibilities

• Create visual assets used directly in digital products: illustrations, icons, badges, banners, empty states, onboarding visuals, promotional modules and supporting graphics.
• Work with UI/UX designers so that visual assets fit naturally into product flows and interfaces.
• Adapt and expand existing visual styles across different product surfaces and use cases.
• Create consistent iconography and illustration sets that scale across NRS products.
• Support product features with clear and engaging visual communication.
• Prepare assets for different screen sizes, resolutions, themes and platforms.
• Create simple motion graphics and micro-animations where they improve the product experience.
• Maintain organized source files, reusable assets, components and visual libraries.
• Take part in design reviews, receive feedback and iterate quickly.
• Collaborate with product designers and developers so that assets are implemented correctly.

Required profile

• 1+ years of professional experience in graphic design, visual design, digital design or a related field; strong internship, freelance or personal product work is also considered.
• Portfolio showing strong visual design fundamentals and digital work.
• Good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
• Working knowledge of Figma.
• Strong understanding of composition, colour, typography, visual hierarchy and shape.
• Ability to create clean vector graphics, icons and illustrations, and to work within an existing visual style.
• Understanding of common digital asset formats (SVG, PNG, WebP) and of designing for different screen sizes and pixel densities.
• Ability to prepare clean, production-ready files for developers.
• Great English communication (C1) and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted image or asset-generation tools is a plus.
