Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Node.js & Vue)

About the role

IDT/NRS builds the Point of Sale platform used by tens of thousands of independent retail stores in the United States and is now expanding it into restaurants. It is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join its distributed engineering team, based in Minsk, Belarus, with a hybrid arrangement of three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of new restaurant-facing services, from data model through API to the screens merchants use.
• Build the merchant-facing restaurant surfaces, such as the kitchen display and all staff interactions across an order's life.
• Extend and harden existing production services without destabilizing them.
• Ensure correctness under concurrency (transactions, isolation, idempotency, race conditions, retries) and offline-capable clients with local state and sync on reconnect.
• Handle queueing, asynchronous processing, background jobs and event-driven flows.
• Roll out releases safely to tens of thousands of users.
• Work directly with product managers and designers, and give technical direction and code reviews to other engineers.

Required profile

• 6-8+ years building full-stack products, including time as the senior person on the work.
• Deep Node.js and TypeScript experience across the stack, with production services you designed and still stand behind.
• Deep understanding of REST API design and microservices.
• Excellent debugging: finding root causes of unfamiliar production failures.
• Fluent written and spoken English, with daily contact with teams in the United States and Israel.

Required skills

• Relational databases (Postgres or MySQL) and comfort with Redis or MongoDB, caching and invalidation.
• Queues and streaming (Kinesis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, BullMQ or similar).
• Vue; React or Angular is acceptable if it covers component architecture, state management and progressive web apps.
• Real-time interfaces via WebSockets, ideally Socket.IO.
• Deploying services that scale horizontally, Linux, Git and CI/CD.
• Comfortable working with existing PHP code and using AI tools in engineering.
