Engineering Manager (POS systems)

About the role

We are seeking a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead the development of scalable Point‑of‑Sale (POS) SaaS solutions. You will work cross‑functionally with engineering, design, operations, go‑to‑market teams and executive leadership to deliver intuitive products that solve real operational challenges for independent retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and grow an engineering team (hiring, coaching, performance management).
• Define and improve engineering processes, emphasizing agentic development.
• Provide technical leadership on large‑scale distributed systems and platform architecture.
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations to ensure product quality, speed, and customer empathy.

Required profile

• 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience in a SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to scale engineering organizations (teams of 10‑30 engineers) and develop career frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including presenting to executives.
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level).

Required skills

• Hands‑on software engineering experience with large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience building POS or similar transaction‑processing platforms (strong plus).
• Deep understanding of SaaS product development.
